Cardiovascular risk assessment for 40 - 74 yr olds

We offer routine cardiovascular risk assessment. Please see the nurse or doctor to discuss this further.

Cervical Smear tests

It is recommended that cervical smear tests are carried out as follows:

Between the ages of 25 and 49 years – every three years
Between the ages of 50 and 64 years – every five years

When booking an appointment, please tell the receptionist you are attending for a smear test.

Chlamydia screening for 16 -24 yr olds

We private confidential Chlamydia screening. Please see the nurse or doctor to discuss this further.

Family Planning

We provide a complete range of contraceptive services, including cap fitting and coil insertion.

Flu/Pneumococcal Vaccination

These vaccinations are recommended for patients over the age of 65, patients suffering from with heart, lung, liver or kidney diseases, diabetes or residents of nursing homes. Please contact the surgery at the beginning of October for further details. If you are housebound, a home visit can be arranged.

Maternity

The doctors provide maternity care and like to see their patients as early as possible in the pregnancy.

Minor Surgery

If you have any ‘lumps’ or ‘bumps’ which you require looking at or removing, please make an appointment with one of the doctors. Minor operations are performed at the health centre.

Phlebotomy

We provide a blood test service at the following times:

Tuesday 08.30 – 11.30
Thursday 08.30 – 11.30

Our practice nurses, Helen Byrne RGN and Margaret Bradley RN RM, provide the following services:

• Child immunisation and vaccinations
• Asthma clinic
• Diabetic clinic
• Well woman clinic/smears
• Contraception advice
• General (blood pressure etc)
• Spirometry (lung function test)
• Weight loss clinic
• Anti-Coagulation Clinic

Patients are requested to telephone for an appointment.

Travel Clinic

For travel advice/vaccinations please make an appointment with one of our practice nurses at least six weeks prior to your date of travel.

It would be helpful if you could complete a travel questionnaire prior to your appointment.
